Hi all! I am looking for a good place to host my podcast. I used to use a site called GCast, but that, sadly, is dead. I want a site where it's relatively easy to upload my MP3 files, where there aren't a million steps to follow, and FTP and all that crap. If anyone knows of a good podcasting site, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
This really depends on how in depth you want to go. If you want to pay $20/m for a dedicated server for email and all that, I charge a flat rate (based on what you need) to secure and install everything. That'd let you host blogs, email, podcasts and etc.
Other options are Dreamhost:
http://dreamhost.com
etc. You will need a way of managing those though. You can upload and just point to a directory, or you can get some sort of script to help you set everything up so that you upload your podcast and provide a description. I also charge for web dev, but you'd get a pretty nice site out of the deal if you wanted something like that. All my information is in my profile, if you're interested.
Hi. As somebody who doesn't know anything about web design, servers etc i would suggest a very easy and practical way to host your podcasts.
You could use dropbox and the pubblick folder. Then your files would have a permanent space and a permanent link. Then you could use a kind of an email list to notify your friends of new episots, or perhaps you could post about your newest podcasts on twitter or facebook.
This might not be the true meaning of podcast with an rss feed but it works well.
Hope it helps

It's really not that hard to just pay someone to build the website so you can host and do whatever you want from there. Dropbox works, but what happens if I miss podcasts and want to go back and listen to them? I have to find the email with the link.
